Laundry Detergent, Liquid (for HE washers)
1 quart water (plus 2 gallons)
2 bar olive oil soap, grated
2 cups washing powder (washing soda)
2 cups borax
essential oil (optional)

Mix quart of water and grated soap over medium heat and stir until melted.  Take off heat and add washing powder and borax util dissolved. You can add a few drops of Essential Oil at this ponit if you wish. Add soapy mixture to 2 gallons of cold water and mix well.  Us 1/4 - 1/2 cup per load. 
This recipe is great for HE washers.  It does not gel like store bought laudry detergent.  It will clump and needs to be stirred prior to using. 

Laundry Detergent, powdered
12 cups borax
8 cups washing powder (washing soda)
8 cups baking soda
8 cups grated olive oil soap
Essential oil (opitional)

Mix and store in an airtight container.  Use about 2 Tablespoons per regular load (a very small scoop).

Air Freshener
1 oz vodka
5 oz water
a few drops of essential oil (20 or so depending on strength of oil)

Comine in a small spay bottle and shake.  Vodka? YES!  It surrounds the essential oil molecules allowing them to diffuse gently in the air.  Plus is has no odor of its own as it dries!
